CALISTO is a magnificent and characterful 41.5-metre classic motor yacht with a truly rich history, originally built in 1944 by Astoria Marine in the United States and, quite remarkably, beginning life as a naval minesweeper before her transformation into an elegant luxury yacht. She has been comprehensively refitted from bow to stern, including a wholly refreshed interior and exterior, a rebuilt wooden hull and reconditioned engines, pairing historic charm with thoroughly modern systems. Built with a wood hull on a full-displacement platform, she is a stately, sea-kindly cruiser, powered by twin Caterpillar engines for a comfortable cruising speed of around 10 to 12 knots and a range of some 3,500 nautical miles, ideal for exploring remote and exotic waters in unhurried style. Her interior features beautiful bygone-era-inspired decor, with rich mahogany, lavish furnishings and a wonderfully calm atmosphere, complemented by fine linens and modern entertainment throughout.
