Abaco Yacht Charter

Stretching in a long arc across the northern Bahamas, the Abacos enclose the Sea of Abaco, a protected ribbon of shallow, sheltered water that has made this the archipelago premier sailing ground. Behind a barrier of cays lies some of the easiest and most rewarding cruising in the region, with short hops between candy-coloured loyalist settlements steeped in maritime history. Hope Town, with its red-and-white striped lighthouse standing over a perfect natural harbour, is the postcard image of the Bahamas, while Great Guana Cay draws yachts to the legendary beach party at Nippers. Between the settled cays, the reef offers superb snorkelling and diving, and empty stretches of sand invite a quiet afternoon at anchor. Genuine, unhurried and made for sailing, the Abacos are the Bahamas at their most timeless.
